Rosquilletas | Breadsticks
Hi there cocinero! Today I show you how to prepare home-made rosquilletas. This is the kind of thing we eat when we are having tea/coffee and we are want to eat something but we are not hungry enough for a piece of cake. I love them because I’m not a huge fan of cakes and sweet snacks and you can easily find different tasty versions: with salt, with rosemary, with sweet paprika, with sobrasada…
Don’t forget to send me a picture of those delicious rosquilletas you are going to make! ❤️
Serves: 4
Difficulty: I can light the stove
INGREDIENTS
500 g flour
250 ml water
125 ml olive oil
40 g of yeast
a pinch of salt
STEP BY STEP
In a bowl, gently mix the water and the yeast.
Add the olive oil.
Add the flour while mixing with the wet ingredients.
Cover the dough and let it rest for an hour. It should double in size.
Knead the dough and divide it into several smaller pieces. In my case, each of these parts was used for two rosquilletas. Tip: the thinner the breadsticks the crunchier.
This is the most common shape in Valencia region. Thin and long. Tip: before baking them spread your favourite topping on top. The classic version is made just with salt.
Bake for 15 minutes at 200 ºC or until they are golden and hard.
These are my favourite ones, which are thinner and have sunflower seeds and salt on top.
Bake and let them cool down to room temperature.
Enjoy your snack cocinero!
